We believe that Steve Bullock is the best candidate for representing Montana in the Senate. Our prediction is that he will win the Senate seat. Firstly, several polls showed that one of the most critical issues that Montana voters care about is protecting public land, parks, and wildlife. "Winning the West" poll organized by Colorado-based advocacy groups for western priorities showed that 88% of Montana voters deeply care about "protection of public land and wildlife." Steve Bullock has an excellent record of protecting Montana's public land as Governor and has repeatedly made that an important issue. Several times, Steve Bullock has said that "Montana's public lands, rivers, and streams are the State's, Crown Jewel." He has permitted public stream access to Montana's public landmark as the state's Attorney General. On the other hand, his opponent has practically no voting record or published efforts of protecting Montana's public lands. Thirdly, coronavirus has affected the economy, which serves as the next important issue for Montanans. Steve Bullock’s response to this issue was not only exceptional but also promising for Montanan voters. Under his guidance, the state implemented social distancing orders, reducing the new infection rates significantly. Under his watch, the state’s unemployment rate decreased by 20,000 per week. Steve Daines did support the Paycheck protection bill in Congress, but to protect his people from coronavirus infections, his contribution was practically negligible. Fourth, Steve Bullock expanded Medicaid and Affordable health care to 90,000 Montanans with the help of Democrat and Republican legislators. Conversely, Steve Daines's record on Medicaid expansion and making health care affordable is quite loose. Lastly, Steve Bullock is a two-time popular Democratic Governor of the state with a large voter base for the Republican party. Steve Daines has been quite a partisan candidate though. A final reason for which we predict that Steve Bullock will win the election is that for the entire month of October, the polling data shows that the race is within the statistical margin of error +/- 3% among Steve Daines and Steve Bullock. Right now, Bullock is ahead of Daines by one point as the polls show a 48%-47% for Bullock and Daines respectively.
